This month in Junior Kinder we have been learning about vehicles!
So the kids had a go at making their own boats!
First they cut some large "sails" using construction paper.
Michael laminated them and the next day we took some lollipop sticks (Popsicle sticks)
some tape, some play-dough and some recycled bento trays.
The kids taped the sticks to the sails, stuck the play-dough to the inside of the tray and pushed the stick down into the play-dough.
Then we took all the boats in a big basket down to Shukugawa park, stood on the river bank ( in the shallow part) and took turns sailing them down stream.
The kids watched with excitement as the wind caught the sails and sent their boats down the river.
It was great fun!
