Discovery: Christmas Cooking!

 To get into the Holiday Spirit we made Christmas Cookies this month for discovery!

We all had lots of fun measuring ingredients and putting them together!

Flour...

 Eggs...

Baking Powder and Sugar...

 Mix it all together and what do you get?

 Now for the fun part! choose your favorite cookie cutters

December Cooking in Playschool

This week in Playschool we decorated Christmas Treats to take home! 

On Thursday we decorated pancakes.

We used red and green icing, with star and silver sprinkles.

Uh-oh! Don't eat it yet!

On Friday we decorated cookies.

Good job!

Those cookies look so pretty... and so yummy!

Balloon Science!

In November I taught Balloon Science for Discovery and we had a popping good time!  We started out by just trying to blow up the balloons to see how much energy we have to use just to fill them with air.

Then we tried filling them with Coca-Cola and Mentos and shaking them up to see if we could blow them up that way.  The kids were really surprised when the balloons started getting bigger.

After that, we tried sticking a skewer in the side of a balloon...and it popped.  Then we put a skewer through the top of the balloon and......it didn't pop!  We learned the top doesn't pop because it is not stretched out.

For the next experiment, we taped a balloon to a stick, and held the balloon over a candle and...it popped.  But when we put just a little water into the next balloon, it didn't pop over the candle!  Even after 30 seconds (we counted)!

Next, we experimented with static electricity.  We rubbed the balloons on our heads and built up a static charge.  Everyone's hair was sticking to the balloons, and we had fun trying to stick the balloons onto other things.  We even saw how a static charge can attract a stream of water in the sink.  We moved the running water without touching it!!!

Finally, we saw what happens when you put a coin into a balloon, blow it up, then shake it.  The coin rolls around and around inside the balloon for a really long time!  This was a super fun Discovery!  Thanks for coming!

歌うとダンスが止まったり、ダンスをがんばると歌うのが止まったりと、とっても可愛いです。

12月のDiscoveryのお知らせ

今月のディスカバリーは、12月15日(火)に行います。

もちろんテーマは『クリスマス』！！
カラフルで楽しい『クリスマス・シュガー・クッキー』を作りましょう～♪

* Ingredients(材料）：Egg, Flour, Baking powder, Sugar, Butter, Water

　　　　　　　　　　　　　 (卵、小麦粉、ベーキングパウダー、バター、水）

外部性の方もご参加いただけます。たくさんのご参加をお待ちしています♪

[Discovery Class受講について]

ディスカバリークラスは、ＮＩＳ生（３歳以上）だけではなく、お友達やご兄弟、全く初めての方でもご参加いただける単発のクラスです。参加をご希望の方は、１回または５回セットのチケットをご購入して頂きます。クラスに関する詳細、金額等はお問合せください。

Discovery Kids Club is for curious children who are interested in trying new things as they explore the world around them.  Using cooking, arts and Science; students are given the opportunity to discover new things with friends.  This class is available for both enrolled students and non-enrolled students ages 3 and up.  Tickets are available at the office for 1 time and 5 times.

クリスマスがやってくる♪

11月も終わりに近づき、街を歩くとクリスマスの飾りが見られるようになってきましたね。

子ども達が一番楽しみにしている季節がやってきます。
当スクールでも、毎年大好評のクリスマスのイベントを12月20日（日）に行います。

Playschool や Jr.Kinder、Kinder の子どもたちは、当日午前中にステージで披露されるお歌やダンス、
劇などの練習を少しずつ始めています。去年は小さかったのでステージで泣きじゃくっていた子も今では、
他の小さな子を思いやり、お世話ができるくらいに大きくなりました。今年のステージは、きっとニコニコ
とお歌を歌ってくれることでしょう。おひとり、おひとりの成長を感じられることが、とても楽しみです。

また、Afterschool 対象のパーティーは、午後に予定しています。
こちらは、クッキングやクラフトを楽しんでいただきます。もちろんプレゼントもご用意していますよ♪　

詳しくは、お子様のフォルダーに入れさせていただくお知らせをご覧くださいませ。

午後のAfterschool の部は外部の方にもご参加いただけるので、ご希望の方はぜひご連絡をお待ちしています。

October Discovery: Pumpkin Cheesecake

This month to celebrate the Autumn Harvest we made Pumpkin Cheesecake!!

After a quick introduction of the ingredients we got to work...

Mix all the cream cheese in till its smooth...

I think I got some on my finger!!

 Time to add the vanilla essence, pumpkin, and other secret ingredients.. It smelled so good!

 Now for the main event!! Who's HUNGRY??

YUM!

it's just the right thing to get us into that Fall Feeling!
